6 Month Update Baby Londyn

Londyn is 6 Months Old! HALF A YEAR! Wow, time flies. Londyn turning 6 months old makes me so emotional, I can’t stand how much we love her and how much she has changed everything, in the best way ever. When we were at the doctor for her 6 Month checkup, we saw a newborn baby and I just couldn’t believe how big Londyn looked compared to this newborn. Like what? She was just the newborn (insert ugly cry face). This past month has been the most fun with her, we just watch her play, laugh and make the cutest noises. She is the happiest baby and we just can’t get enough.

Londyn weighs 13lbs 1.5oz and is in the 4th percentile, but is in the 55th percentile for height (going to be tall like daddy??) The doctor says she is growing well and even though she is in the lower percentile she is right on track and is just a little peanut! She is LOVING solids (aka purees baby food). She has tried squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, green beans, bananas, & peaches! And she is loving everything she has tried. It has been so fun to have her at the table with us at dinner and feeding her. We are looking forward to introducing more solids and some real foods! Like cheerios!! (My favorite since I was a little kid)

Londyn is sitting by herself! This has been fun because she can sit an play with her toys for so long and it’s fun to watch her. She is loving ALL bath toys (aka rubber duckies). We don’t use them in the bath, we take them everywhere cause she will play with them for so long. She wants everything she can’t have; cell phone, remote, diapers, wipes.. She is a fiesty little thing. She still is obsessed with Duke.  No matter her mood, Duke can make her smile and laugh. It’s the sweetest thing and I know they are going to be besties! Duke does get annoyed sometimes (He was the only child for 5 years) but he is getting so much better with her and is starting to realize she now has food too and he stands right next to her highchair and licks her hands of all the mess she makes.

The best part of the past month… Londyn sleeping through the night!!! We did a little cry it out method and it has worked! She is sleeping around 9-10 hours a night and it is so nice to have her not waking every 3 hours. (As I type this, I’m scared I’m jinxing myself) She usually wakes up around 5am.. sometimes she will push it till 6 but we are wide awake when daddy gets home from work and have a little family time before he heads to bed. It’s been nice. However, the doctor says I need to push her to sleep later than 5am.. So that is the next step.

We had a busy month with little missy and we are very excited the weather is getting nice and we can enjoy summer! We had the best Mother’s Day and spent the day with my mom. It is so special that we get to spend so much time together and her and Londyn can be so close. We have a busy month ahead full of birthdays, showers, our anniversary & lots of family time! Londyn starts swim lessons next week, we are getting her ready for our vacation in July!

5 Month Update Baby Londyn

FullSizeRender (1)FullSizeRender (2)

Our Baby Angel is 5 Months old!!! Wow, this past month has been so fun with her. Everyday she gets more and more personality and a little more sass! We have been having so much fun with her! She definitely keeps us busy!

This past month she has grown so much and she is ready to be BIG. Which mama is NOT ready for that 😉 She is a wiggle worm, she wants to MOVE! She will always be grabbing for something, wiggling, kicking her feet, shaking her arms. She loves grabbing for our phones, grabbing the remote, anything that she isn’t suppose to have she wants. She has been laughing so much, especially when daddy throws her up in the air (I panic everytime he does it). She loves to watch and pet Duke, he is really starting to come around to her. He will give her the biggest kisses on her face & lick her hands and feet. We are starting to let her lay on him, just so he starts to get use to her climbing all over him. He doesn’t seem to mind too much! She has to have something in her mouth at all times, always slobbering, loves her taggie toy to chew on. She refuses to take her paci anymore, which kills us. It would be nice to have her take it when she is just a little fussy to soothe her, but I guess it is better for the long run. I still try to give it to her daily though. She loves her new activity saucer, it will keep her entertained for quite a while and loves the songs it plays. We will dance to the music and she loves to watch us dance & be silly (anything to hear her laugh). She has rolled over both ways she just isn’t too interested in rolling that often, but she can do it! She is starting to love bath time and is figuring out kicking in the water and how fun rubber duckies are to chew on!

She started trying solids this past month! It has been fun to get her ready for dinner & have her eat her dinner while we are making our dinner. She has tried rice cereal, carrots and squash. Her favorite so far seems to be squash! She makes yummmm noises while eating it. She likes to hold the spoon while I’m feeding her, she really thinks she is bigger than she is. We will move on to the “Green” veggies next! We can’t wait till she can sit in her highchair and be at the table with us! Because that is exactly where she wants to be! When we go out to dinner now we have to take turns eating because she wants to sit at the table with us!

We started to sleep train, a little…. She is sleeping pretty good, still only waking up once a night to eat & will get up for the day around 6:30/7:00AM. We did try the cry it out method, which was so hard on mama. We will try it again if she regresses back to multiple wakes a night. I would like to get rid of the 1 time she does wake up…. but want to avoid the cry it out if I can… **suggestions welcome;)

We had a busy month! We had a wonderful 1st Easter with our families. We went to church and had brunch. She was a perfect angel in church, she slept for most of it and then when she woke up she was just smiling at everyone in the pews behind us. She did get fussy towards the end (1.5hrs was long for me too) so Daddy took her outside to the swingset… where mommy went to middle school! This month we also celebrated my birthday! I wanted low key and it was nice to go to dinner with Mitch while my parents babysat Londyn. She loves hanging out with grandma and grandpa!

We are looking forward to this next month & to see what else she learns and how much she grows! We are going to a mommy & me tumbling class and a mommy & me swim class when she is 6 months old! I think it will be so fun to see her in the pool and we want her to get use to the water for our summer vacation to Florida!

Here are some pictures from our past month!

4 Month Update Baby Londyn

IMG_9214

IMG_9185IMG_9190Our little baby doll is 4 months old. Seriously TIME FLIES!!! I follow a couple people on Instagram who recently had babies (like within the last week) and it made me miss that BRAND NEW baby newborn stage. Being in the hospital and having no idea what we are doing but loving every second of it. I was missing it, I can see why people have multiple children! But I am also loving seeing Londyn grow, learn and play! Everyday she seems to learn something new or do something new! Mitch and I are always like did you see that?? Haha we are loving watching her grow up, even if it is TOO fast!

Londyn is still smiling all the time, starting to laugh; she will giggle at the silliest things & we try everything and anything to make her laugh. She has discovered her hands and toes! She always has her hands in her mouth and is always grabbing her toes (probably to chew on too). She loves playing with her toys, she is about to roll over from back to front and has rolled front to back a few times.

She is now sleeping in her own room in her crib. This was tough for me…. I wasn’t ready for her to be in her room and so far away from me. But it has been good & I think I’m sleeping better since I can’t hear her every move. She is still waking up 1 -2 times a night to eat, which I’m getting use to. But our doctor does want us to try letting her cry it out.. which when she told me that, I cried… I clearly am not ready for that, I don’t know if I ever will be. I will eventually try this, but I need to mentally prepare. She is doing better during nap times and is napping on a schedule & will do at least one nap a day in her crib.

She is going to start solid foods this week! This is exciting to me, I think it will be so fun to watch her trying new foods & having a dinner time with her. She has shown signs of wanting real food.. She will watch us eating, drinking and has just started to grab for things like if we are drinking a water bottle. We are starting with Rice Cereal then will move on the orange veggies, then green veggies, then fruit!

We have been enjoying the gorgeous weather, making us very ready for Summer! We try to take Londyn and Duke on a walk everyday when the weather is nice.  We have been busy seeing family, friends and getting out & about! We are looking forward to more nice weather, Easter, my Birthday & SUMMER! She is such a happy baby, loves to chat & play and is so much fun!

Mitch and I had our first date alone since having her. (We’ve gone out without her & had my parents watch her but this was the first time we did a date alone!) We went and saw Beauty & the Beast! It was my favorite movie as a kid & it was AMAZING! I cried like 3 times & they definitely did the original justice! I can’t wait until we can take Londyn to Disney movies with us!

She was so squirmy & giggling for these monthly pictures. These two show it perfectly.

Our family walks; That pouty lip, gets me everytime!

3 Month Update Baby Londyn

I know I say it every month and will probably continue to say it every month but I can’t believe my baby doll is 3 months old! Time needs to slow down. Before I know it she will be heading off to college (hopefully to become a CSU rammie;))

This month has been the most fun yet! She is starting to get her own little personality, smiles ALL the time & loves to chat to anyone who will listen! I love watching her grow and learn new things every day. It’s crazy how she changes so much every week, even every day!

She has started to recognize my and Mitch’s faces and will always give us the biggest smile when we say “hi!!” She seems to know her name & smiles so big when we call her Londyn Bear. She also recently (within the last week) discovered her tongue! She will smile and stick out her tongue, it’s so adorable. She also found her hands and sucks on them any chance she can. Also, within the last week or so, she no longer loves her paci and fights it every time I attempt to give it to her. She loves to tell stories and chit chat, its so fun to watch her find her voice. We were in the middle of a tax meeting last week and she was just chatting it up. It was so cute, especially since we were in a very quiet office.
She loves her play gym & is starting to grab the toys hanging down. She still loves to sleep on my chest & I’m dreading the day she won’t do that anymore. We are struggling with nap times… She rather be held by mommy than sleep in her crib. Everyday we try to do a little nap in her crib, each day its a little better. But I really don’t mind holding her, I’m soaking up all the baby snuggles I can. She is starting to put everything in her mouth and drolls all the time. This must be a sign of teething to come soon! She is sleeping OK, some nights she only wakes once to fed and others she is WIDE AWAKE at 530AM (Which is so early when you aren’t working) She has completely grown out of newborn clothes and is wearing 0-3 months and some 3 months. She loves to watch the TV, which I’m sure people will disagree with. But I think its the colors & movement that she is drawn to. I have put on the disney channel & we watched Winnie the Pooh, which was one of my favorites as a kid. I can’t wait till she is old enough to love all the Disney movies!!

We had a busy month! We still try to take her as many places as we can. It’s nice to get out, enjoy the weather or enjoy a good happy hour/dinner with the hubs. Last weekend we celebrated Mitch’s 30th BIRTHDAY!! We went to Golden to a couple breweries. And so I could enjoy some beer too… We left Londyn with my parents. This was the first time leaving her with anyone! It was a big deal for me, I cried! I left my parents a long list of “just in case” things & what to do (They thought that was very funny, #controlfreak). Of course she had a great time and everything went perfect. My parents are already asking to watch her again. We also took baby to the Zoo, and went to the Museum, both were so much fun (Obviously, fun for Mitch and I) Can’t wait till she will enjoy those places too         We had a great month and can’t wait to see what this month brings for our little baby and how much she will change!

Londyn Monthly Update

img_7989

Londyn is 2 months old! I really can’t believe how fast time is flying by. My baby doll is getting too big too fast! She is such a happy and fun baby. I still can’t believe she is ours FOREVER, like that is crazy how this little babe is mine… all mine. i. love. that!!! She is smiling so much now and starting to make the cutest noises! I will say “HI” and she will make a noise like she is imitating me! She loves to be talked to and loves to talk back & tell stories. It’s so fun to watch her learn new things every day!

She still is loving her swing, her paci, car rides and EATING! I am so blessed that she is a good eater and breast feeding is going so well! She is starting to sleep a little better, we had a few weeks of great and then a few weeks of bad.. I think when she is going through a growth spurt she wakes up a lot more to eat. She is now doing 5-6 hours pretty consistently, which is good with me. We will pray it stretches longer soon. The doctor suggested I move her to her own room to start good sleeping habits, but I am just not ready for her to be in her own room.Maybe at 3 months we will try it.. if I’m ready 😉 She loves being rocked to sleep, likes to watch the TV and be held A LOT! Like right now she is sitting on my lap while I type, momma’s little helper.

We had her 2 month appointment at the doctors this week. The doctor gave Londyn an A+ for her progress/growth! She is in the 60th percentile for height, she is going to be tall like her daddy! She is only in the 6th percentile for weight(9 lbs 4oz), but the doctor said she is still gaining a good amount and she is just a petite little thing. She is starting to grow out of her newborn clothes, which makes me so sad. And she is now in a size 1 diaper… big girl! She loves tummy time (for like 2 mins max) But the doctor was impressed with how well she holds her head up and said most 4 month old’s don’t do it as well! (I was a proud momma) She also has started to roll(kinda fall) from her tummy to her back.. She shocks herself when she does it but it was exciting for us to see!

We had her Baptism this past weekend & It was a special day for all of us. It was fun to get all our family and friends together to celebrate her Baptism & share that special occasion with everyone. The Baptism dress she is wearing is special because my mom wore it for her Baptism and I wore it for mine! Here are some pictures from the Baptism (photo cred to my sister in law Krista & friend Amanda- thanks for snapping these)

Baby Londyn Marie Parks

Here is a monthly baby update…..Yes a little late, I have a newborn;)

Our baby girl is 6 weeks old! We couldn’t imagine life without her and it’s been such a fun time. She is such an angel, she loves to cuddle & be held while sleeping. She loves to eat, stand up, her swing, car rides (when mom is sitting in the back seat) & her paci. She has grown so much already and I want time to STOP & keep her my baby forever. I can’t believe it’s been 6 weeks since I gave birth to her. (More on her birth story below) It has been a crazy 6 weeks from no sleep to just loving every cuddle. Overall, Londyn has been such content baby. She gets fussy at times but mainly when she is hungry or has a dirty diaper! Being a first time mom, I do tend to freak about everything and google A LOT. But that is getting better the more time we spend together and the more I know exactly what she needs & being able to read her cues. Everyone that spends time with us always says, “She loves her momma” and that is one thing I absolutely LOVE hearing. I want her to be a momma’s girl and I want her to need her momma all the time. I really don’t mind waking up in the middle of the night to feed her cause I love the special time we get together. Even though I’m not complaining about the 6-8 Hours she has been sleeping at night! 😉

In the first month we had so many visitors and Daddy was off work for a month so we spent a lot of time together & got to celebrate our first Christmas & New years! We love to take her to restaurants because she sleeps right through dinner & we know it will not be like this forever so we are enjoying our dinners out while we can! She has been shopping with mommy many times and is the best shopping buddy! Can’t wait to watch her grow and see more of her sassy personality.

Finally sharing her newborn pictures!

LONDYN’S BIRTH STORY.

It was the day before Thankgiving and I had my 41 week check up with my doctor. I was already 4 days late and SO ready to be done. (Now looking back, I should of enjoyed those last days of being pregnant with my sweet angel) I got to the doctor and everything looked good, I was only 1.5 cm dilated & 70% effaced and the doctor didn’t think I would go anytime soon and told me to schedule an induction for the following Saturday, the 26th. She said to enjoy the Thanksgiving dinner and come back rested for Saturday. She then ordered a non stress test and an ultrasound just because I was 4 days late & could tell I was uncomfortable. During the ultrasound they found that I had low amniotic fluid levels. I could tell the nurse was worried & wanted to get the doctors opinion asap. I was on the phone with Mitch when the nurse was discovering this.. So we both were like uh… is everything ok? The doctor came back in and said I was going to get induced TODAY! Omg, panic mode. She said everything was okay and baby was okay but the placenta was just done and it was time. She told me to go home, get my bags and my husband and go straight to the hospital. I headed home and Mitch went out and got us lunch cause I knew I wouldn’t be allowed to eat for a while. I was a little too anxious and nervous to eat, but I had a little. I was holding it together for the most part until we were getting ready to leave. I just lost it, I couldn’t stop crying because of Duke.. I was so sad that he wasn’t going to be my ‘baby’ anymore and I didn’t want to leave him for a few days. We finally left & headed out to have a baby!!! So surreal!

We got to the hospital around noon, got checked in & they showed us right to our room. It didn’t seem real, I wasn’t IN labor, I was feeling fine, no contractions, no pain. We got situated in our room & met our AMAZING nurse Sarah. And things got started! They started the induction by giving me Cervidil, which helps dilate the cervix. Then we waited. We watched tv, tried to nap & relax. We had a few visitors, my parents, Mitch’s parents and Brad (who was at the hospital for work). I was still pretty anxious and emotional(Especially when I saw my parents). A few hours in, I still wasn’t dilating as quick as they would have liked. So the doctor suggested a balloon insert (I’m sure it has a technical term) and this would help manually dilate me quicker. I still wasn’t having any pain, just a little crampy so I was good with getting things moving. (BIG MISTAKE). The inserting of this ‘balloon thing’ was THE MOST PAINFUL PART of the entire labor experience. Once it was inserted, it was time to wait again. A few hours later I was dilated to a 3-3.5cm.. and I was starting to feel contractions and having some pain. So the doctor suggested I order my epidural and that way I could relax and get a good night sleep (impossible when they check on you every 30 mins). The Epidural was an easy process, the anesthesiologist that came was so great and walked me through everything she was doing. Wasn’t painful at all and I knew it was working pretty quickly. I was in no pain and tried to relax and get some sleep.

The morning came & I was only dilated 5cm.. So around 7am they gave me pitocin to help me dilate faster. Again, we just waited. We talked to the new doctor on call & decided if things didn’t get moving by Noon we would consider a C-Section. My mom arrived around this time (She was at home busy making Thanksgiving Dinner) But I was so happy she was finally there to experience this with me. Our Nurse, Sarah, was really trying to get things moving & decided to have me try a peanut shaped birthing ball. I laid with the peanut birthing ball for probably an hour & as soon as she checked me again I was dilated to about a 9-9.5cm. It was almost GO TIME. It was 10am, and it was time to start pushing! This was intense, I got so exhausted and have no recollection of how long I pushed for, it seemed like forever. My arms hurt & my neck hurt but both Mitch & my mom were such a good support system & they kept helping me through every push. And then just like that… she was here! At 11:44 am, our baby girl came into this world! All I remember is I wanted to keep pushing and the doctor told me only one more little push and she would be out. When they laid her on my chest I immediately thought she looked just like Mitch and I was just so in love. She was so little. She weighed 5lbs, 15Oz, 19 inches long.

The rest of the day is a blur, I remember being so tired and just wanting sleep. But the nurses were all so great and made the first few days of parenthood a breeze;). By day 4 in the hospital, we were ready to go home! We wanted our own bed, we missed Duke and we were ready to start our new normal at home! When we got home, our house was decorated with pink balloons and “it’s a girl” signs by Mitch’s parents. I, of course, balled as soon as I saw that, it was such a nice thing to come home to. The first few days home were emotional & just trying to get sleep any chance we got and seeing what this little baby was all about. I was just in heaven:)
